SPRINGFIELD ELKS LODGE 1560 ANNUAL HOOP SHOOT

 Recently, Springfield Elks Lodge held their Annual Hoop Shoot at Riverside Middle School for participants aging from 8 to 14.
 
     The following participants were awarded 1st place trophies in 8/9 years of age for girls was Keeli Stewart, 10/11 years of age Savannah Dezaine and the 12/13 age group Meadow Murchie.  For boys age 8/9 Jacob Blair, 10/11 age group, Oliver Kelley and 12/13 age group Sebastian Salls.  Trophies for 2nd place for girls 8/9 age group Payton Austin, 10/11 age group Hailey Magill 12/13 age group Amelia Murchie.  For boys 8/9 Carl Johnson, 10/11 age group Christian Arie and 12/13 age group Jeremy Wilson, Jr.
 
     All the first place winners will compete in the Vt. Elks Southern District Hoop Shoot event at Springfield High School on January 11th, 2020 at 10 AM.  The Elks Lodges in the South are comprised of Springfield, Brattleboro, Bennington and Rutland.  First place winners in each age group will participate at the Vt. Elks State Hoop Shoot in Barre, Vt., on January 25th at 10 AM.

Vermont results – National Hoop Shoot

Ethan Whalen from Rutland will be going to Chicago April 25th to represent Vermont at the National Hoop Shoot. Jacobi Lafferty brought home a third place. Rocky was on hand to help pass out the trophies.

SPRINGFIELD ELKS LODGE #1560 LOCAL HOOP SHOOT RESULTS

 Springfield Elks Lodge 1560 recently held there annual Hoop Shoot for boys and girls, ages 8 to 13.  This year was a record turn out compared to years past with (43) young competitors.     First place winners in all age groups, boys and girls, will now compete in the Elks Southern District Hoop Shoot at the Springfield High School gym on Jan. 12th at 10 AM.  Bennington, Brattleboro and Rutland Lodges will be competing against Springfield competitors on that day.     For the girls, winners in the 8 & 9 year old group was Payton Austin, 10 & 11 age group was Savannah Dezaine and in the 12 & 13 age group was Molly Tennis.  For the boys, winners were Metin Gultekin for 8 & 9 years old, Caleb Merrow for the 10 & 11 age group and James Gultekin for the 12 & 13 age group.  2nd place winners for girls, Keeli Stewart for 8 & 9 year olds, Hailey Magill for 10 & 11 age group and Amelia Murchie in the 12 & 13 age group.  For boys, Jacob Blair for 8 & 9 age group, Kaiden McCarthy for 10 & 11 age group and Caden Benson for the 12 & 13 age group.     The winners at the Elks Southern District Hoop Shoot on Jan. 12th will continue on to compete in the Vt. Elks State Hoop Shoot in Barre, Vt., on January 26th.

The St. Albans Elk’s Lodge Local Hoop Shoot was held on Saturday, December 1st at BFA St. Albans.
