I would like to thank the members of Rutland Lodge No. 345 as well as members throughout the state that have supported my election as President of the Vermont Elks Association. Guiding this association during the next year is much more than a one-man job. It takes the involvement of a dedicated group of individuals that serve as the Association Officers, State Trustees and the Camp Committee. These great Elks, along with the numerous members around the state that volunteer their time and resources make my job as President so much easier. My slogan this year is “Involvement-The Future of Elkdom”. As Elks, we need to work to get our members, young and old involved in our lodges. The more members that we can involve in lodge activities the more they will realize what it is that we as the Elks do for our communities. This involvement will help build a sense of pride in being an Elk and help strengthen our lodges as well as the State Association. Having spent the past 14 summers working at Silver Towers Camp my life has been changed in numerous ways. You will hear much about the successes, as well as the needs of Silver Towers during the upcoming year. Many stories will be shared of the enjoyment that campers bring to our lives year after year. I urge each one of you to visit Silver Towers this summer. Meeting the campers will go a long way in helping to get our lodge members involved with what we do at camp. I look forward to seeing old faces, and meeting new members during the upcoming year as we continue to work together to guide the Vermont Elks Association successfully in to the future.

Fraternally,

Brian Gaura, President
